Thinking responsibly about self-care

The basic and first circle of responsibility and influence that I am entrusted to as a person is my own life.
Striving for great influence in important designations is a far step ahead of my primary task.
On the Journey of Change it is crucially important to be trustworthy, reliable and dependable on this first level of performance.
Although this initial sphere seems unimportant and the notion to bypass it is strong…it will be a catastrophic decision not to start the journey right here.

For the Christian community Paul states it very clear that anyone who longs for a leadership position should show all the signs of responsibility, dependability and trustworthiness within the private circle of his or her own life.

This is mandatory.
It is not negotiable.
The success of the Journey of change starts at home.
It all boils down to the way that a person lives his or her life.

I have full responsibility for my thoughts, emotions, actions, inactions and choices.
I can’t blame others for any of that.
I can’t make excuses for any of that.
I can’t be a victim.

I have sole and primary responsibility to myself and should exercise it as my birthright.
Although many people would like to influence me within my own circle, I do not need to accept it. Even if people would like to think that their wish or plan or idea for my life is their responsibility…it isn’t.

People who would like to manipulate me into resigning my own responsibility…should be seen as the enemy of my own inner world.

I should guard my personal circle of responsibility and influence with all my heart.
I am the guardian and custodian of my life.
This is a gift given to me by the Creator.
Thus, I will exercise myself daily in responsibility.
Therefore, I will protect myself from intruding actions of others.

I will expand my own circle of responsibility with self-care.
I will excel in self-love.
